Increase your automotive parts storage capacity fast without incurring costly renovations or moving to a new facility with a structural steel mezzanine. Whether you need a little or a lot more floor space, Trammell has the perfect mezzanine solution to fit your application, your timing, and your budget.

Shelving Supported Mezzanines

With this multi-level system, the second floor is supported structurally by the shelving that is below it. Why would you want to use your shelving as the structure? Costs savings. The only drawback of the shelving supported mezzanine is you cannot change the layout of the bottom floor once it is done.

There are two different types of shelving supported mezzanines a “deck over” where your flooring on the second level is laid on top of the shelving on the first level to create one solid floor. There is also a “catwalk” where your shelving on the first and second floor mirror each other and are one solid unit and all you do is suspend the flooring in the aisle ways. Flooring is typically made out of bar grating or B-decking with resindek on top.

Free Span Mezzanines

The design of a free span mezzanine allows you to take advantage of unused overhead air space and turn it into beneficial storage space. Free span mezzanines are supported by structural columns and beams, maximizing usable space above and below the mezzanine. A free span mezzanine is a structure that is separate from the building but creates the support for 1 multi-levels above it.

The benefits of a Free Span Mezzanine include it is considered capital equipment, therefore it can be depreciated over 7 years instead of 30. Another benefit is that you can change the floor plan underneath the mezzanine. Columns spacing and spans are customized based upon customers applications and needs.
